Vaginal mesh use should be restricted to research only, says NICE

After safety concerns vaginal mesh may very well be entirely banned for treating prolapse. The latest guidance published by NICE the UK watchdog is that mesh implants be used only for research purposes.

This decision is seen as being a significant step by campaigners seeking to end the use of Mesh until more complete long term studies into the risks of this treatment have been completed.
